Free climbing is a sport that leaves you amazed and makes you addicted. You climb a vertical rock using only your body. We take you on a trip that you will remember for the rest of your life. The National park Paklenica is the most extraordinary Croatian climbers’ and mountaineering destination. With its rocks rising up to 350 m high it is a true challenge for all mountaineers and climbers.

DAY 1. – VELEBIT – FREE CLIMBING

Meeting point: Entrance to the National park Paklenica, 9:00 am. After a slow walk to the climbers’ camp and a short rest, the gear is distributed, safety measures and rules for using the equipment explained. After that you get tied up to a rope and then start free climbing along a vertical rock under the instructors’ supervision. Dependent on your ambitions, fitness and available time we can visit the nearby catering facility to have dinner.

VELEBIT – the largest and the most beautiful Croatian “Sacred Mountain”. It is stretching along the coast of the Adriatic sea for full 145 km, from the Vratnik pass to the Zrmanja river thus creating a bulwark of 15 km between the sea and the continent with countless scattered rocky ridges and sink-holes, cliffs, crests, valleys and summits, many of which reaching above 1,600 m, such as Vaganski vrh summit (1,757 m) and the highest Sveto brdo summit (1,751 m).

National park PAKLENICA – its name most probably originates from the black pine rosin, so called “paklina”, used by the local population as medicine for healing wounds, as light-giving splinter and as primer for wooden boats. It spreads across the littoral slope of the southern Velebit until the zone of the highest mountain ranges (Vaganski, Babin, Sveto brdo) and encompasses the region of vertically etched canyons of Velika and Mala Paklenica. At a relatively small area an extraordinary richness of geomorphological phenomena and forms meet the diverse plant and animal world, attractive landscapes and untouched nature.

In case of bad weather conditions we withhold the right to change the time schedule and the schedule of activities and trips. All trips will take place in changed schedule.
In case that an insufficient number of participants apply for the tour at the latest 5 days prior to the beginning of the package tour the travel agency is obliged to inform the participants on cancellation of the programme.
